Berthold Lubetkin's home in Bristol, UK

Situated on a house on the corner of Princess Victoria Street and Oxford Place in Clifton, Bristol this blue plaque celebrates Berthold Lubetkin. The Russian born architect pioneered modernist design in Britain in the 1930s. His work includes the Penguin Pool at London Zoo and the only modernist terraced houses in England. Located in Plumstead, these are now Grade II Listed. Lubetkin lived in London and Gloucestershire before moving to Bristol in 1969. The city remained his home until his death in 1990.
