15 June 2025 saw the inaugural Bristol Birdman event. It was organised by Grassroots Communities. The spectacle attracted large crowds to Bristol’s Floating Harbour in glorious sunshine.

In rather windy conditions, contestants’ flying contraptions travelled only a short distance before splash landing in the harbour. However, the competition was won by event specialist Bakehouse Factory.
